Former Beer Bar Available On Prime Corner In The Gaslamp

Anyone in the market for a restaurant? The corner spot in the Gaslamp at 551 J Street, on the edge of the East Village, is currently up for lease; it was the longtime home of Meze Grill before being quick-changed into a short-lived beer bar called Bargarten.

Sitting at the base of the Residence Inn, the space is sizable, at 3,148-square-feet, and includes a larger outdoor patio and six new roll up doors. Strom Commercial's Nate Benedetto says the building's owner is hoping to nab a high-profile operator for the corner, which shares an intersection with the new Water Grill, Hotel Solamar and the soon-to-open Pendry Hotel.
