On Monday, November 16, Eater will present the winners of the 2015 Eater Awards, our sixth annual celebration of all that's made the San Diego restaurant world run — and run wild — in the past 12 months. Winners will be selected on both the local and national levels in five major categories, and the voting begins right now. The polls are now closed for Restaurant of the Year and Chef of the Year.
Next up? Bartender of the Year.
Here's a primer on the nominees. Since returning to his native San Diego last year to helm Noble Experiment, Trevor Easter, has helped to revitalize the six-year-old speakeasy and co-created the cocktails for Park & Rec. It was big news when Christian Siglin departed Bankers Hill for Bracero, where the cocktails crafted by his talented team are just as big of a draw as the food. Juniper & Ivy snagged Sycamore Den's Eric Johnson to step up its cocktail program and entrusted Johnson with the drinks at its soon-to-launch, highly-anticipated The Crack Shack. Steven Tuttle and the team at Kettner Exchange admirably maintain a drink list of quality and creativity within a challenging, high volume bar setting. In his first year at The Lion's Share, David Tye earned industry accolades and developed and launched the largest craft cocktail menu currently offered in town.
Here's how the voting works: Eater editors have named nominees in San Diego for each of five major categories. Eater readers will vote, narrowing the nominees to three finalists. From those three finalists, the Eater editorial team will select a winner. Ready to play your part? This poll will be open for 24 hours; voting irregularities will be strictly policed.
