Ramen Yamadaya Now Officially Open Downtown

Time to get slurping!

Eater

They say that good things come to those who wait. We just got word that the eagerly anticipated downtown outpost of Ramen Yamadaya soft opened on Broadway yesterday. Eater reported in late July that work at the 1,784-square-foot space had stalled perhaps due to permitting issues, with another possible three to four months projected until opening

However, we are pleased to announce that as of today the 45-seat eatery is officially open for lunch and dinner. A 'soft open menu' will feature for the next few weeks and comprises the four staple tonkatsu ramen bowls: original, shoyu, spicy and kotteri ($9.45 - $9.95); plus tsukemen (thick, fish flavored noodles served cold); pork belly kakuni ramen, and the signature Yamadaya ramen.

Alternative Japanese appetizers (Yamadama bun, gyoza, takoyaki), and bento boxes (curry rice, kara'age chicken, mabo tofu) are also available for "non-ramen freaks". Finally, a $3.95 ‘ramen combo’ option gets you any number of bowl combinations (spicy tuna, ikura, chashu, mentaiko) plus salad. We’re told the expanded craft beer selection will be "coming soon", along with the usual teas, sodas, sake and sochuu drinks list.

Ramen Yamadaya is open for lunch between Monday – Friday (11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.), and dinner (5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.). Weekend hours are 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.
