First Anniversary Parties at The SafeHouse & Panama 66

NORTH PARK— Asian-inspired eatery The SafeHouse, which opened a year ago on University Avenue, is celebrating its first anniversary this weekend with a party featuring a whole roasted pig that starts at 4:30 p.m. this Saturday, October 10 with a $12 'Pint and Plate' deal including pork, two sides and any draft beer. Butchers Brewing will also be on hand with swag and free samples of its seasonal brews, with the restaurant featuring the East County breweries' beers for $5 all night. [EaterWire]

BALBOA PARK— Panama 66 is also ringing in its first year of business with two hours of live music from Creepxotica that will kick off at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 12Tickets are just $19.66 a pair and include access to a food buffet and an anniversary keeper glass of Automatic 100 Year lager. AROUND TOWN— From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, the Karina's Group will be donating 15% of proceeds from their area restaurants to support South Bay Community Services' programs and resources for victims of domestic violence. Participating restaurant in the inaugural Dine Out Against DV program include Savoie in Chula Vista and Karina's Seafood locations in Chula Vista, National City, Bonita, El Cajon and Downtown San Diego.
