Local Habit Finally Ends Its Run After Four Years In Hillcrest

New, 5 comments

Monday was its swan song.

Several tipsters alerted us to Local Habit's sudden closure; although the 5th Avenue eatery was open on Monday night, a message posted yesterday on its Facebook page said, "To our loyal guests & friends, we are terribly sad to tell everyone that our doors have been shut permanently. Thank you for supporting us for all of these years! Lassiez les Bon temps rouler! Good luck and God bless to all!"

Open since Summer 2011, Local Habit's current ownership gave the restaurant a makeover earlier this year, adding a cocktail program and bringing back co-founder Nick Brune to revamp its Cali-Creole menu. Brune told Eater that he is now focused on expanding his catering business, Eco Caters, and his SoundBite pop-up dinner program.
