Frozen Custard & Steakburger Franchise Expanding Into San Diego

New, 1 comment

Could it rival In-N-Out?

An excited tipster turned us on to the impending arrival of Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, a fast-casual franchise based in Kansas which has over 150 locations nationwide and at least three outposts planned for the San Diego area.

The all-American retro-themed eatery's menu revolves around griddle-smashed lean ground beef "steakburger" patties on butter-toasted buns, plus Vienna Beef hot dogs, shoestring fries and shakes, sundaes and other desserts made with freshly-churned vanilla or chocolate frozen custard.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will pop up in the 4S Ranch area, on Mile of Cars Way in National City and in San Marcos at 767 Center Drive. The chain's headquarters shared with Eater that construction on its local stores will commence by the end of the year and each restaurant will seat 100 guests and have an outdoor patio and drive-thru.
