5 San Diego Spots Among America's 100 Best Beer Bars

The local group that made Draft's annual cut.

DRAFT Magazine has just released its annual list of America's 100 Best Beer Bars and out of the 30 spots chosen from the western region, there are five from the San Diego area.

Returning winners include siblings Blind Lady Ale House and Tiger!Tiger!Hamilton's TavernO'Brien's Pub and Encinitas Ale House.

DRAFT's local picks had a busy 2014. Blind Lady Ale House and Tiger!Tiger! Co-owner Lee Chase hand built the custom system at Balboa Park's Panama 66 with various local beers on tap. And Hamilton's owner Scot Blair announced plans for a new brewpub in South Park.

The magazine says bars that made the cut continue to reign king of craft beer.

Jeers from commenters were about one bar amiss on the list. The local outpost of Toronado debuted on the 2014 list but was quickly deleted this year, as was its popular San Francisco counterpart.
