West Coast Tavern & The North Park Theatre to Change Ownership

West Coast Tavern and The North Park Theatre will soon have new owners. SD Observatory LLC, which currently runs The Observatory, a live music center in Orange County, will be taking over the restaurant and entertainment venue on January 15 from David Cohen, Bobby Jones and The Verant Group, which operates a number of local eateries including True North Tavern and barleymash.

In a statement, Cohen said, "Deciding to sell the property was not an easy one as both of these venues are near and dear to us. But I know that under this particular new ownership, both establishments will reach new levels of success, and that is not only good for the businesses themselves, it will also greatly benefit the community of North Park as a whole."

The new ownership will reportedly not make any big changes to the restaurant, but plans to ramp up the number of shows at the theatre and draw in more "big names in entertainment".
