Iron Chef-Style Taco Fights & a Battle of the Chef Bands

Plus, a chocolate and beer pairing.

EAST VILLAGE— The Blind Burro's Taco Fights are back, with a twist. Kicking off on Tuesday, February 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. and reoccurring every Tuesday until March 3 is a new round of battles between local chefs who'll compete to face off in the final championships. This year, each week will have an "Iron Chef" spin, with the public voting, via Facebook, on a new ingredient that must be incorporated into the competition tacos. Each Tuesday, sampler taco plates will be available for $9, with drink specials that include bottomless margaritas for $15 and $13 Casamigos Tequila flights. SOLANA BEACH— On Monday, February 9 at The Belly Up Tavern, bands assembled from local restaurants' back and front of house staff will take the stage for DiningOut Magazine's fifth annual Battle of the Chef Bands. In addition to the live entertainment, the ticket price includes free appetizers from 15 San Diego eateries and access to a silent action. Proceeds will benefit the Center for Community Solutions. MIRA MESA— Green Flash Brewing Co. continues its Behind the Craft series with an event that will pair beer with chocolate. Green Flash's Director of Beer Education Dave Adams and local Nibble Chocolate's co-founders and chocolatiers David Mejia and Sandra Bedoya with team up for an educational tasting of the brewery's beers with Nibble's single origin dark chocolate scheduled for Monday, February 23 at 6:30 p.m..
