Food trucks at breweries, that rotating cast of mobile eateries that feed local tasting rooms, aren't a new phenomenon; Green Flash Brewing Co. has been hosting food trucks since they opened their Mira Mesa facility in 2011.
Next month though, the brewery intends to take food matters into its own hands. Green Flash will debut a new in-house food truck that will be posted at the tasting room going forward.
Called Green Flash Gastro, the truck was inspired by the success of the brewery's Supper Club series of pop-up dinners curated by Dave Adams, the brewery's Director of Beer Education.
Adams and chef Hector Mendoza will be crafting dishes designed to pair with Green Flash beers; the food truck's menu will rotate, but the opening lineup includes snacks that range from chicken wings and charcuterie and cheese boards to a braised short rib sandwich with gouda, caramelized onions and horseradish creme fraiche.
