Start of Restaurant Week; More Foie Gras; Almost-Free Pinkberry

More restaurant week menus, even more foie gras and a Pinkberry deal.

DOWNTOWN— The new Double Standard is making their San Diego Restaurant Week debut with a three-course $30 dinner from chef Chris Gentile which includes options that range from their housemade pasta to pizza or a dry-aged ribeye for two. Dessert is a choice between an espresso-drenched affogato or an Italian donut with raspberry sauce, vanilla gelato and lemon curd. [EaterWire]

CORONADO— To usher in the return of foie gras, Meredith Manee, the new chef de cuisine at Hotel Del Coronado's 1500 Ocean, is now featuring Hudson Valley foie gras on her menu. It's available as an optional dish-topper and will featured as a composed dish throughout the month of January; the rotating foie specials include a foie and white truffle breakfast-inspired dish with seared foie gras, duck fat potatoes, a fried duck egg and duck bacon and a straightforward seared slab of foie served with macadamia nut butter, passionfruit jam and brioche. AROUND TOWN— To celebrate the company's 10th anniversary, the Pinkberry locations in Hillcrest and Fashion Valley will be offering small frozen yogurts (toppings included) for only 10¢ from 7 p.m. until close on Friday, January 30. Request your yogurt "Birthday Style" and it'll be sprinkled with edible gold glitter and topped with a white chocolate birthday candle. [EaterWire]
