Champagne Truck; Taste of the Nation; Beer Fundraiser

DEL MAR— French champagne house Veuve Clicquot has a specially outfitted mail truck roaming the country and it rolls through San Diego this weekend. On Saturday, it'll be at CUCINA enoteca from 5 to 7 p.m. with by-the-glass and by-the bottle specials on Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label and Rose on the open-air upper level of the restaurant. Later that night, the champagne truck stops in La Jolla at Bijou's Club M from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. with a champagne cocktail called the Ice Breaker and special "mailmen" who'll deliver messages from table to table. DOWNTOWN— Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation, a food event to fight child hunger and support the San Diego Hunger Coalition is scheduled for Sunday, September 14 and features over 50 participating restaurants, breweries and wineries, including Cafe Chloe, Buona Forchetta, Jayne's Gastropub and Table No. 10. SOUTH PARK— From 2 p.m. until close on Saturday, September 27, Brabant Bar & Cafe is donating 15% of all sales to two women-based beer groups, the Pink Boots Society and Beer for Boobs. A tap will be dedicated to Delirium Tremens' Deliria, made by women brewers in Belgium, plus a special beer cocktail and food specials, from pink Scotch eggs to berry and pomegranate-infused waffles and borscht.
