Karl Strauss Brewing Company is hosting a San Diego version of Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. at their main tasting room and brewery. They'll release the 2014 version of their Oktoberfest brew, plus feature 25 other beers to commemorate the company's 25th anniversary. The $15 tickets, on sale now, include a half-liter commemorative stein and your first beer; there will also be live music, plus soft pretzels and tacos available for purchase. [EaterWire]

LIBERTY STATIONPacific Arts Movement is putting on its first food-focused event to kickoff the San Diego Asian Film Festival on Thursday, October 2 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the McMillin Event Center.
