Swine Bar, the much-anticipated University Heights restaurant from Scott Slater of Slater's 50/50 that's on track for an October opening, has been given a cheeky new name.
The "eclectic meatery", which will focus on exotic game meats and house made sausages and bacon, is now called S&M: Sausage and Meat; Slater says the name switcheroo better reflects the menu and the restaurant's "personality as a provocative, unapologetic urban concept."
Additionally, S&M will include a market counter stocked with fresh sausages, house made bacon, charcuterie, sauces and other local products. A beer and cocktail bar within the 3,200-square-foot eatery, featuring 12 taps and a specialty cocktail menu, will now go by Swine Bar.
A pared down version of S&M: Sausage and Meat is also heading to the East Village, where it'll be one of the anchors of the new Quartyard project in development on Market Street.
