Grand Food Emporium in the Works for Liberty Station

An ambitious public market filled with local food artisans in being planned in Point Loma.

Just days after the San Diego Public Market wrote its final chapter on Barrio Logan, another ambitious market project has announced an intent to launch in Point Loma by June 2015.

Local restaurateur David Spatafore of Blue Bridge Hospitality, whose holdings (including Leroy's Kitchen + Lounge and the soon-to-debut Stake Chophouse + Bar) have all been centered in Coronado, is venturing across the bridge to open the Liberty Public Market in Liberty Station.

Partnering with the complex developers, Spatafore is helping to establish a $3 million 22,000-square-foot food market next to the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, which opened last May; the new food hall will reportedly have space for 30 local food artisans, plus outdoor dining areas and an open kitchen.
