We heard the early word that Lemonade, the popular eatery with more than ten stores centered in the Los Angeles area, is descending upon San Diego.
Lemonade's first flag in San Diego is headed to Westfield UTC; the company says it has signed a lease to build out a restaurant in the former Charlotte Russe space. It's scheduled for a mid-2015 opening.
The concept, which describes itself as serving "Seasonal Southern California Comfort Food in a fast-casual cafeteria setting", recently opened an outpost in Dubai. And founder/exec chef Alan Jackson, who runs the restaurant group with COO Ian Olsen, recently published a cookbook of Lemonade recipes last year.
Lemonade, which opens for lunch and dinner, has a rotating menu that revolves around least 20 different prepared salads, available in various portion sizes. There are also sandwiches, meat and seafood options and braised dishes, including red miso short ribs and Moroccan chicken, plus, of course, lemonade (six daily flavors).
