Jaison Burke, executive chef at The Pearl since 2011, is bidding farewell to San Diego. In two weeks, he'll up to Ojai, where he's accepted a chef position at the Ojai Valley Inn and Resort, a luxury hotel property in Ventura, CA.
Burke, who just helped The Pearl's owners, the LWP Group, launch Tacos Perla in North Park, has always been a strong supporter of local farms, highlighting them in his seasonally changing menus and just debuted his final summer menu for The Pearl. And, he was popular with Eater readers, who named him San Diego's Most Underrated Chef.
In a Facebook post, Burke said of the LWP Group, "My time in SD has been amazing and I could not have asked for a better company to work for while in this amazing city."
A rep for The Pearl says the restaurant should be announcing new chef details shortly.
