New Summer Cocktail Menus; Food Truck Fest

LA JOLLA— There's a lot to love on NINE-TEN's bar menu, served daily from 3:30 to 10 p.m., from their great burger to lamb meatballs. There's also a new summer cocktail menu, which includes Bless Her Heart, a mix of whiskey, peach liqueur and basil-honey syrup and the St Teresa, prosecco with hibiscus and lemon. [EaterWire]

EAST VILLAGE— Five years after first opening, Noble Experiment is still going strong and has an infusion of new bartender blood, led by general manager Trevor Easter, a San Diegan who has returned home after time behind the stick at a handful of lauded San Francisco bars, including Bourbon & Branch and Heaven's Dog. Tonight, Easter and the NE bar crew unveil an entirely new seasonal menu whose foundation is classic Americana-style cocktails done with their meticulous attention to the craft. Among the nine new libations is a variation on a mint julep made with bourbon, local peach syrup and a bonus float of rum, a scotch-centered Tiki drink called A Call to Arms, and Easter's off-menu version of a Pimm's Cup, spiked with fresh ginger. DEL MAR— On Saturday, August 16, your racetrack admission gets you access to Del Mar's fourth annual Gourmet Food Truck Fest, a gathering of over 50 food trucks from San Diego, the O.C. and Los Angeles, plus a beer garden. Entry to the food truck area is free; most dishes will run $4 to $8. [EaterWire]
