The newly-finished North Parker has already been filled with food tenants but The Charmer, Jonathan Segal's 21-unit Middletown project that was completed in 2011, is just getting a restaurant of its own.
Raffaele Petrazzuolo, who opened Sapori in Coronado in 2010, is bringing a pizza and beer bar with a decidedly Italian twist to a 2,000-square-foot corner in the base of the building, which will be flanked by outdoor seating space on India Street and a trellis-covered side patio.
Petrazzuolo told Eater that Pizza e Birra will serve Italian food made fast, from appetizers and antipasto to salads, pastas, and individual pizzas made to order in a wood burning brick oven; some dishes from Sapori's menu may also transfer over.
The eatery hopes to be a comfortable, sit-down spot for the neighborhood, with communal tables and casual service. Pizza e Birra will have 12 to 24 taps, a mix of local and Italian beer, and plans to be open in July.
