East Coast Pizza, which has outposts in Cardiff and San Marcos, is expanding into Hillcrest (435 University Avenue) with a new location that'll serve lunch and dinner daily and open late on weekends for the post-bar/club crowd. Specializing in New York-style pizza-by-the-slice, the Hillcrest shop will also carry craft beer and wine. It's not due to open until mid-July, but East Coast Pizza will preview their pies this Thursday at the Food Truck Fierceness! event, a kick-off for AIDS Walk & Run San Diego. [EaterWire]
