A new 1,800-square-foot cafe that just opened in Solana Beach specializes in creative, gluten-free dishes, and most excitingly, is the first in San Diego to stock and serve the Bay Area's Blue Bottle Coffee.

Open in the Ocean Pointe complex from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, The Curious Fork was co-founded by executive chefs Barbara McQuiston and Kai Peyrefitte, who operated a catering business before finding this brick-and-mortar spot. Their gluten-free kitchen will power a quick-service cafe serving espresso drinks, fresh pastries for breakfast and seasonal salads, sandwiches, pizzas and more for lunch.

At night, The Curious Fork will host cooking classes for all skill levels and offer guest chef demos and special events. There's also a retail section, stocked with speciality ingredients from their menu, plus cookware and appliances.
