Where to Eat & Drink on Father's Day in San Diego

NORTH PARKCarnitas' Snack Shack's second annual Father's Day Barbecue is from noon to 4 p.m. this Sunday. The extravaganza includes Benchmark Brewing Co. guest bartending on The Pig Pen patio, with four Benchmark beers at $6/pint, a live butcher demos from The Heart and Trotter Butchery, with cuts of beef available for purchase to take home and a limited number of Butcher-to-Plate specials that'll be cooked on the spot, and barbecue plates from The Smokehouse Kings, including an open-face barbecued brisket sandwich. AROUND TOWN— On Father's Day, chef Matt Gordon is featuring a prime rib special with Bernaise sauce and and horseradish mashed potatoes at each of his three restaurants, Sea & Smoke in Del Mar, Urban Solace in North Park and Solace and the Moonlight Lounge in Encinitas. Dads can order the meaty meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner and they'll also get a bonus treat, house-made chocolate covered bacon. [EaterWire]

BIRD ROCK— Chef George Morris of Beaumont's Eatery is enhancing their usual Sunday acoustic music brunch menu with two specials just for Father's Day, a Steak n' Eggs sandwich with fried egg, shaved rib-eye, cambazola cheese, smoked Fresno chiles, butter lettuce and red onion, and a Surf n' Turf Omelet with lump crab, prosciutto, brie and melted tomatoes.
