Open Air Venue To Have Bars, Games, Pizza & Music

New, 1 comment

We reported that Good Time Design is headed to Liberty Station, but the prolific hospitality group isn't quite done with the East Village, where they've already established more than a handful of venues, including The Blind Burro, Southpaw Social Club and Bub's at the Ballpark.

Their latest contribution to the neighborhood was Moonshine Flats, the honky tonk bar and dance club that opened in February. Now, the hospitality group is expanding their East Village footprint with The Deck at Moonshine Flats, an offshoot of the bar that'll also operate as its own entity.

Planned for a July debut, The Deck at Moonshine Flats is destined for GTD's Culy Warehouse, a 5,000-square-foot space that's previously been used for special events. Group principal Ty Hauter is designing The Deck along with Patrick Gallahue ; the venue will have a capacity of 600-750 and ample room for bands, DJ's and "backyard-style" games.

Under The Deck's retractable roof will sit two shipping container bars dispensing beer, moonshine-based cocktails, and slushies; a double-wide trailer will function as a coal-fired pizza kitchen.

During the day, the open air venue will have family-friendly atmosphere; at night, it'll be an extension of the Moonshine Flats' party, staying open until 2am.
