For over three decades, Dobson's Bar & Restaurant has been a hub for downtown wheelers and dealers conducting business over the eatery's signature puff pastry-topped mussel bisque.
Now, it enters a new era without founder Paul Dobson at the helm; though Dobson will still make appearances at the restaurant, the owner has sold his stake to attorney Chad Ruyle, who will partner with current president and proprietor, Marcos Luciano. Luciano told Eater that Ruyle is "going to put in some capital and continue the tradition of Dobson's."
New investor Ruyle, who is also part of the Bottega Americano project in the East Village, will reportedly fund a spruce-up of Dobson's interior and add an outdoor patio, while the menu will get a bit of an update by consulting chef Martin San Roman.
