La Jolla's Zenbu Sushi to Shutter for Good on Saturday

A reader passed along word that Zenbu Sushi is shuttering this weekend after 14 years in La Jolla; the restaurant's last night is tomorrow, May 31.

A message on their website states that the restaurant "would like to send a fond farewell and HUGE thank you to the many people who have supported us throughout the years. The local music and endless stream of colorful, local characters will resonate long after we have gone. Our appreciation will remain strong as will the many memories of La Jolla nights at Zenbu."

Owner Matt Rimel still has another Zenbu in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, as well as Rimel's Rotisserie locations in Petco Park, La Jolla, Del Mar and Cardiff. The website message also alludes to a "newest location announcement soon."
