Eager Eater readers have been awaiting the debut of Kearny Mesa' new Common Theory Public House; the 5,500-square-foot space, with capacity for 270+, now houses one largest restaurants on Convoy and certainly the biggest in terms of craft beer.

Co-owners Cristian Liang and Joon Lee have just soft opened their new craft beer contender, which includes a massive 60-foot main bar backed with 30 taps that will pour a variety of beer, plus cold brew from local Mostra Coffee. A smaller, four tap bar will be reserved for tap takeovers, private events or overflow on busy nights.

Common Theory's chef, Dave Birtness, has created a "high-end bar food" menu that runs the gamut from Carlsbad mussels and frog legs with ale grain mustard to Korean-style fried chicken and seafood pancakes. There are also sandwiches, salads and burgers, including the soon-to-be signature chicken-friend wagyu cheeseburger with charred scallions. For dessert, there's a a daily flavor of crème brûlée and house made soft serve ice cream.
