Smokehouse Sundays; Tap Takeover, I Love Poke Fest

GOLDEN HILL — Neighborhood gem Counterpoint has a new chef, Rose Peyron, who is launching a new weekly series called Smokehouse Sundays on May 25; the inaugural dinner menu includes smoked short ribs marinated in watermelon, summer squash risotto and pickled watermelon rind, plus smoked house made ice cream or gelato, all for $17. SHELTER ISLAND — The I Love Poke festival is back at the Bali Hai on Tuesday, May 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. Over 30 chefs and restaurants, including Puesto and Hodad's, will be sampling their food, and 15 restaurants will compete in the event's best poke competition.
