Donut Bar Opens New Stumptown Coffee Bar in Gaslamp

A friend of Eater spotted a new coffee bar downtown that's serving cult Stumptown Coffee Roasters out of Portland; Stevedores is now open from 6 a.m. to noon daily in the base of The Keating Hotel.

It's a new venture from Donut Bar proprietor Santiago Campa, whose partner in Stevedores is Keating owner Ed Kaen. For now, the coffee bar is offering Chemex pour overs and has taps pouring Stumptown's single origin cold brew and cold brew on nitro, but Campa tells Eater that they'll start serving espresso drinks shortly.

Donut Bar's fried treats are available on weekend mornings at Stevedores, which also opens for the bar and club crowd on Friday and Saturday night from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. For late night munching, the coffee bar is serving "The Waffie", a cookie-waffle hybrid made with chocolate chip cookie dough, and a sausage encased in a donut that gets topped with powdered sugar.
