OB Noodle House fans will have another place to get their fix this weekend, when the popular Ocean Beach eatery soft opens its second spot on Sunday, May 11.
The new Bar 1502 spawned from the boom in business at OB Noodle House that resulted after the six-year-old restaurant was featured in an episode of Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" that aired last summer. According to their Facebook page, Fieri stopped by for another visit just last month.
Owner Steven Yang told Eater that he wanted to open another restaurant for local and regulars, so he took over a nearby 4.000-square-foot space that was formerly The Blue Parrot.
Bar 1502 will have the same Asian fusion menu as OB Noodle House, but a full liquor license means a new bar program that revolves around whiskey. The new spot, which is a block from the beach, will also reportedly host the occasional live music show.
