A reader alerted us to the emergence of a new coffee house in Normal Heights with a long history in San Diego. After a series of moves that took them everywhere from Ocean Beach to Hillcrest, Java Joe's, the legendary music venue that first opened in the early '90's, has popped up in the Artlab space on Adams Avenue. Java Joe's will host regular music shows and operate as a traditional coffee shop; SD Uptown News says they'll serve drinks fueled by Bird Rock Coffee Roasters and pastries from Bread & Cie and Sweet Cheeks Baking Company.
