ACME Brunch Debut; Dine Out for Life; Flatbread Concept

EAST VILLAGEACME Southern Kitchen launches a new brunch this Sunday, which will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m weekly. The eatery will offer its full regular menu in addition to fresh brunch specials, including bacon, corn and jalapeno waffles, Southern-style eggs Benedict with Tasso ham gravy, shrimp 'n grits with gggs and French toast baked up bread pudding-style with whiskey sauce and whipped cream. AROUND TOWN— This Thursday, April 24 is the eighth annual Dining Out for Life San Diego which raises funds for HIV/AIDS-related services. More than 100 local restaurants will donate 25 to 100% of the day's sales to benefit The San Diego LGBT Community Center, including all The Mission locations, Cowboy Star, Burger Lounge, 100 Wines, Tiger!Tiger! and many, many more. HILLCREST— Kasi, the shuttered Indian restaurant at 3803 Fifth Ave. has been replaced by Rockfire Grill, which builds pizzas and sandwiches from flatbread cooked in a tandoor oven and offers oven-fired chicken, prawns and grass fed beef kabobs. [EaterWire]
