Carnitas' TV Screening; Beer Cocktails; Chef Celebration

NORTH PARKStarting at 5 p.m. tonight, the San Diego Roller Derby crew will be skating around Carnitas' Snack Shack to help raise funds for the league; 20% of every steak sandwich and $2 from every beer sold at The Pig Pen bar will go towards the team. And at 7 p.m. on the patio, they'll screen the pilot episode of the Cooking Channel's "Offbeat Eats with Jim Stacy" show, which features the eatery and its Triple Threat pork sandwich. [Facebook]

NORTH PARKCoin-Op Game Room is unveiling a fresh batch of cocktails on Monday, April 21. From 7 p.m. til close, their spring cocktail menu launch includes cocktails and select appetizers for $5; new executive chef Mark Bolton will be introducing a few items from his upcoming menu release. The bar's rolling out eight new beer cocktails, including Trouble in Pearadise, which tops gin, pear liqueur, rosemary syrup and lemon with a saison and The Bitter Pucker, a mix of grapefruit-infused bourbon, Cynar, RX Cane Syrup, Lemon and IPA. AROUND TOWN— San Diego's Chef Celebration, an organization which raises funds for culinary scholarships, is rounding out its collaborative dinner series with an event on Tuesday, April 22 at Encore Champagne Room & Dining Room, when exec chef Ryan Studebaker will be joined by Florent's Rich Sweeney and NINE-TEN pastry wiz Rachel King.
