New Dessert Cafe Debuts on Convoy

An all new, all dessert cafe soft opened today in Kearny Mesa. Baker Cammie Le is behind Blush Desserts, a 1,200-square-foot cafe whose thoroughly sweet menu is described as French-Vietnamese.

Le has over 41 flavors of French macaron in her recipe box and will offer a dozen varieties each day, from the traditional to the more exotic, including durian and jackfruit. In addition to custom-creating sculptured cakes, she'll offer single -serving portions of her signature desserts, from a cheesecake souffle cake to flan and strudel, plus cupcakes, fruit gelatins and truffles.

Blush's twists on Asian drinks include using Tea Gallerie teas in their boba drinks and local Mostra Coffee to fuel their espresso bar; Mostra's cold brew even makes it into Le's tiramisu.

And their fresh take on the snow ice trend means that they make their flavored ice, including mango and green tea, from scratch. The cafe, which is open Tuesday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., is sticking to desserts, but Le says that Blush may eventually offer brunch.
