Sushi is on the way to the Park Boulevard West building along the trolley tracks in the East Village. The owners of The District are venturing into sushi to help fill a culinary gap in the neighborhood; the same reasoning that prompted them to open their sandwich shop on Market Street in 2012.
Co-owner Michael Blair told Eater that addition to serving sushi and craft beer, The Parlour will also be a wine bar and offer meat and cheese plates, salads and soup. The 1,110-square-foot space will be open for lunch and dinner.
Their beer and wine license may not go through until May or June, but they should be up and running with food later this month. Blair, who sits on the board of the East Village Association, says that though they're still focused on strengthening the neighborhood's food scene, he and his partners expect to eventually branch out beyond downtown.
