Coffee & Pizza; New Japanese; Chez Panisse Chef

NORTH PARK— From 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, March 14, Coffee & Tea Collective is hosting the opening for Initial Conditions, a photo installation by Terry Easlick. The event also marks the San Diego return of local pizza pop-up Tribute Pizza, who is returning from consulting at a Kenyan pizzeria. Tribute's Matt Lyons will be serving up free pies, with a suggested donation that will go to benefit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi. [EaterWire]

RANCHO SANTA FE— Chino Farms' Good Earth / Great Chefs series continues on Sunday, March 30 with a booksigning from David Tanis with his new tome, One Good Dish: The Pleasures of a Simple Meal; Tanis spent almost 25 years as the chef of Chez Panisse.
