New at Blind Burro; Brewery Debut; Free Gelato

EAST VILLAGE— There's a slew of new going on at The Blind Burro, including additions to brunch, lunch and dinner; highlights from the menu include tasty garlic-chile shrimp skewers served with tomatillo-avocado kale slaw, tacos topped with coffee-rubbed salmon or crispy cauliflower and a chicken tinga torts stuffed with chipotle-braised chicken. They've also expanded their weekly Thursday night dim sum cart service (7 to 11 p.m.) to feature Baja egg rolls, Baja-style meatballs in noodle soup, weekly specials and sake bomb-inspired drinks, including a shot of cinnamon tequila with lemonade. MIRAMAR— Joining the Miramar area craft brew community is Pacific Brewing Company, founded by former Stone Brewing Co. brewers. A grand opening is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. this Saturday, March 29, with food trucks and five core beers from their 3BBL system. [SDReader]

DOWNTOWNGelato Paradiso, which opened earlier this year in The Headquarters is launching a sweet deal next month. From 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 and continuing every Wednesday in April, the shop is giving away free piccolo-sized cups filled with up to four of their 30 house made sorbetto or gelato flavors.
