Belmont Park is continuing its revitalization by announcing their plans for Draft, a new venue which will span the ground floor of the beachfront building. Last summer, hospitality pros Eat.Drink.Sleep launched a sushi lounge, called Cannonball, on its rooftop.
Coming in late Spring to the Mission Beach boardwalk, Draft will be stocked with 60 beer taps and an 80-plus bottle list that they hope will encourage communal beer exploration. Justin Lopez, the park's director of operations, says that Draft will aim to "take the 'scene' out of drinking quality beer"; the restaurant will "offer a huge selection of craft beer that will rotate seasonally and there will be opportunities for beer education as well. But, no one will sneer if you order an ice cold light beer..."
The space, with capacity for 500, is being designed by Mauricio Couturier (Bang Bang, El Camino) and Hollis Brand Culture and the park's executive chef, Brad Wise (formerly from JRDN) is building a menu that'll include pork belly corndogs served with truffled mustard and a pistachio-crusted salmon sandwich; nightly happy hours and weekend brunch service are also in the works.
