SuperNatural Sandwiches, a Hillcrest farmer's market favorite, is now officially brick-and-mortar with the launch of its new Miramar shop just around the corner from St. Archer Brewing Co.
The 900-square-foot nautical-themed space, styled in collaboration with Crystal Fritsch from Violets and Vinegar Design, is the first of multiple eateries that the SuperNatural crew plans to open; the next will be larger, and offer beer and wine.
SuperNatural's menu of seven "sea-to-sandwich" signatures that range from the Siren (garlic shrimp, white cheddar, fiery "necromancer sauce", local greens) and the bacon and scallop-stuffed Neptune, have now been joined by a new "sinister" set of seven additional sandwiches, which include The Chimera, a surf and turf combo of Korean BBQ with shrimp, a Baja-style jalapeno dusted white fish with cactus and a chile crema and a veggie sandwich with tofu "meatballs" and marinara they're calling the Shapeshifter. Starting next month, SuperNatural's Anthony Tran says that they plan to debut a new weekly sandwich special.
New sides includes shrimp garlic fries and shrimp chips, plus desserts from Andrea's Truffles and a new-to-San Diego treat, macaron ice cream sandwiches. For now, the Miramar shop is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; look for pop-up dinners with guest chefs on Saturday nights down the line.
