LA-Based Italian Coffee & Cuisine Moves Into East Village

New, 1 comment

A Los Angeles transplant is headed to the East Village, destined for a corner spot in the base of the new 13 & Market building and due to open by July.

Caffe Primo executive chef and CEO Tony Riviera sent Eater a first rending of the 5,469-square-foot space with an 800sf patio, which will incorporate an espresso bar offering free Wi-Fi during the day, with Italian pastries, panini and handmade gelato, and a full service Italian restaurant serving dinner and weekend brunch, with wine and beer.

Expect classics like linguine with clam sauce, pasta carbonara and traditional spaghetti and meatballs; Caffe Primo will also bake pizzas in a Woodstone oven. With two similar LA eateries under his belt, Riviera told Eater that he's excited to "introduce the City of San Diego to our wonderful concept that has become a cult in Los Angeles."
