Surfers, beachgoers and locals will soon have a new neighborhood spot at which to gather and feed.
Shorehouse Kitchen is due in La Jolla Shores by early April. Currently undergoing a remodel, the 1200-square-foot space will include a heated outdoor patio that'll seat 50. The partners in the project are Angela Montion and John Freis, who are both involved with the Pizza Nova restaurants; Freis also sits on the board of The Fish Market in San Diego.
The eatery will start off with breakfast and lunch service, featuring a quick-service espresso bar which will offer Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, fresh orange juice and pastries baked in-house and sourced from Bread & Cie.
Come summer, their operating hours will extend to dinner and wine pairing events. Lined up as executive chef is Lars Steffensen (The Water Grill in LA, Campine Catering); running FOH is Ken Adamski, general manager of Top of the Market. Montion told Eater that Shorehouse Kitchen's food will be upscale California cuisine, a mix of traditional and "edgier" dishes.
