Dog Haus, a gourmet hot dog concept with three locations in SoCal, has announced an expansion that includes five new outposts in San Diego County.
Franchisees Laura Zhang and Calvin Lee are still scouting for locations, but the first Dog Haus will open by the second quarter of 2014. They're looking for neighborhood spaces, from Midtown to Point Loma, and Justin Earley of Capital Real Estate Ventures Inc. is the local agent to contact.
Founded in 2010, the eatery's menu offers signature items, including The Old Town, which tops a smoked bacon-wrapped hot dog with caramelized onions, jalapeños, chipotle mayo and cotija cheese, or you can customize your own dog, sausage or burger with over 40 different toppings.
The company recently appointed chef Michael Brown as their culinary director; Brown opened Rick Bayless' Red O in LA and was the executive chef for Nike World Headquarters and Google.
