Savor SD Beer; Mardi Gras Dinner; Mexican Wine & Tapas

LITTLE ITALYBallast Point Tasting Room and Kitchen and Mira Mesa's White Labs are both featured on the "Craft Beer" episode of Savor San Diego, which airs Thursday, February 27 at 9 p.m. Recently, Ballast Point specialty brewer Colby Chandler and White Lab's head brewer head brewer Joe Kurowski collaborated on a Weeping Cat Saison, which features a custom blend White Labs yeast and a host of spices (Szechuan peppercorns, Thai chilies, coriander, cilantro, toasted coconut) inspired by the Crying Tiger dish that host Su-Mei Yu cooks on the show. At 8 p.m. on Thursday in Little Italy, they will debut the beer along with chef Colin MacLaggan's version of the dish, followed by a 9 p.m. screening of the show.
