Eater heard a delicious rumor that Jean-Philippe Patisserie, a European-style pastry shop with two Las Vegas outposts, was heading to San Diego.
The shop confirmed that founder Jean-Philippe Maury is now living locally and plans to open a new store in one of the ground floor retail spaces in Broadstone, the just-completed apartment building at the corner of Grape and Kettner.
According to his bio, master pastry chef Maury has been named the best pastry chef in France and while representing America in the 2002 World Pastry Championship, claimed the gold medal.
Jean-Philippe Patisserie specializes in chocolates, cookies, cakes, crepes, salads, sandwiches and more; they currently operate shops in two Las Vegas hotels, ARIA and Bellagio.
