Further fueling San Diego's craft coffee craze is the Bean Bar, which recently opened its Pacific Northwest-inspired shop dedicated to serious coffee connoisseurs.
The beans served here hail from Vancouver's 49th Parallel; Bean Bar one of the few places to carry this cult roaster outside of Canada.
There's a "slow bar" for more leisurely coffee consumption, from pour overs and coffee cupping to coffee talk with baristas, and a more quick-service espresso bar where shots are pulled on the sleek Dutch-designed Spirit pictured above.
Open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Bean Bar also serves tea from Coffee & Tea Collective and sweet and savory pastries from Sugar & Scribe; a grand opening party is scheduled for Saturday, December 6 from 5 to 8 p.m.
