Shopping centers throughout the county are getting makeovers and an influx of new food.

The latest complex in line for a facelift is Beachside Del Mar (2690 Del Mar Heights Road). Donahue Schriber's $4 million renovation of the shopping plaza is scheduled to be complete by mid-2015 and though the company is still in the process of securing leases, the first food tenants have been announced.

An outpost of Jersey Mike’s Subs, the fast-casual sub sandwich shop, will open there in the early part of the new year and The Broken Yolk Café, which has several locations around San Diego, will expand to Del Mar and offer breakfast and lunch service, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. The eatery is expected to launch this summer.
