Last year, after nearly 20 years of operating Kensington Grill, Urban Kitchen Group redesigned the space in order to launch a new concept, the seafood-centric Fish Public, which opened on Adams Avenue last June.
Today, Fish Public confirmed a tip that it will shutter this week; the restaurant's last night of service will be Wednesday, December 31. In a statement, Fish Public says they "took a chance on a new concept that we wholeheartedly believed in---unfortunately it just wasn't the right fit".
The group says they are currently considering different options for the space as well as planning new local Urban Kitchen Group concepts, sharing that they are "also looking at new locations for our expanding CUCINA collection of restaurants both in and outside of California".
