Judging from the huge response to our opening piece, Eater readers are into the fried chicken-doughnut-coffee concept that opened on 30th Street this week. Early word on StreetCar Merchants has been stellar; one Yelper called the doughnuts "freakin delicious" while another declared that the two styles of fried chicken (Southern and Korean) are "home runs".
Now there's more to get excited about; starting this weekend, the eatery will introduce a third variety of fried chicken to the permanent menu — their rendition of Nashville's famous dish, Hot Chicken. And did you know that the menu includes a pound of fried chicken skins? Let's be real, the skin is the best part of the chicken; these fried treats are also available at the East Village's Table No. 10 and local Filipino snack shops.
