Could This Be the End of Boozing on the Coaster?

Tomorrow's vote will decide.

Our ability to bring and drink beer and wine on the Coaster may be banned starting early next year, spurred by "complaints about alcohol-fueled rowdy behavior".

The North County Transit District Board of Directors will vote tomorrow on the ban of all alcohol, which has been allowed aboard the Coaster since the commuter line was launched in 1995.

According to the U-T, the meeting is set for 2 p.m. Thursday at NCTD headquarters, (810 Mission Ave. Oceanside), with a public hearing planned just before the vote.

If the ban is approved, it will go into effect on the Oceanside to San Diego train starting February 1, 2015.
