Belgian Bar Anniversary; Nightclub and Sushi Bar Pop-Up; New Patio Menu

Brabant turns one, a chef pops up at a club and a sushi bar, and The Patio adds new food in PB.

SOUTH PARKThis Friday, Brabant Bar & Cafe is celebrating its first anniversary with a party starting at 5 p.m. that'll feature beers from Allagash Brewing Company, including the brewery's Curieux aged in Jim Beam barrels with coffee, Interlude 2014, and Victor. GASLAMP & OCEANSIDEAD Nightclub, which opened this summer in the Gaslamp, has launched a biweekly dinner club series featuring different local chefs. On Thursday, December 11, Stephen Gage, chef de cuisine at the La Valencia Hotel will be heading up a five-course menu of Asian-Mexican fusion cuisine, with sake and mezcal pairings. Gage will also be featured this Monday, December 1 at Oceanside sushi destination Wrench & Rodent Seabasstropub, where the chef is doing a one-night-only "Anarchy Izakaya" menu that includes oyster Jell-O shots, smoked tomato ramen and oxtail gyoza. PACIFIC BEACHThe Patio on Lamont just added new seasonal dishes to their menu, from happy hour bites of roasted beet bruschetta and roasted cauliflower antipasto to fresh dinner menu dishes, including smoked pulled turkey sliders, fall vegetable flatbread, oxtail ragu on polenta and a 21-day aged bone-in ribeye served with parsnip purée and roasted vegetables.
