NORTH PARK— Mexi-modern eatery Tacos Perla joined the ranks of San Diego’s Taco Tuesday scene on Nov. 4 with the expansion of its menu and some new specials. Their new Taco Tuesday menu will run every Tuesday from open to close (11:30am - 10:00pm) and include $2 adobada tacos, $2 mahi-mahi tacos, $3 tecates and $4 mango habanero micheladas. The mahi-mahi tacos are a new menu item altogether and will be a spin-off of the traditional Ensenada-style of preparation. Due to better pricing from local vendors, they have also been able to reduce prices across the board; traditional taco prices from $3.95 to $3.50 each, and non-traditional taco from $4.95 to $4.75 each.
OLD TOWN— According to a source within the business, a dissolution has occurred between El Agave Restaurant and Tequileria in Old Town and its former Del Mar location, El Agave Restaurant. The partnership reportedly dissolved by mutual consent. The Del Mar location will be changing its name soon and effective Nov. 17, 2014, is no longer associated with the Old Town location. The original location in Old Town will continue to provide its services to loyal patrons
LA JOLLA— If you don’t already have plans for New Year’s Eve, Roppongi Restaurant and Sushi Bar is making them for you. Executive Chef Alfie Szeprethy will create a mouthwatering prix-fixe, four-course dinner, and jazz saxophonist Ian Tordella will perform exclusively on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 7pm to 12:30am. The dinner will be priced at $74 per person and will include: a Hamachi poke starter, a first course of either grilled shrimp salad or shellfish consommé, a main course of either surf and turn of filet mignon, and a dessert choice of either cheesecake, a trio sampler plate, or sorbet.
